Fort Kennedy

I grew up in Moultrie, Georgia where segregation and inequality were mainstream. I got involved to invoke change and make a difference by participating in the Civil Rights Movement and was part of an active effort in the community to get people registered to vote. I ventured off to Oregon in 1965 through a Job Corps program where I furthered my education in heavy equipment then redirected my career to become a Residential Youth Counselor for the Job Corps. In 1968 I was drafted into the U.S. Army and was sent to Vietnam and in 1970 I was honorably discharged as a Sergeant for the U.S. Army. After I completed service to our country, I returned to Portland, Oregon, and continued my career as a Residential Youth Program and Disciplinary Officer. I was employed as a Loss Prevention Officer in the retail industry and for the Vancouver School District in a Day Treatment Program that helped our youth with getting an education and mainstream them back into society. I am also a long-time and active member of the New Hope Community Church and serve on the Deacon Board.

Andrew brings to the Fort Kennedy Board his experience in effectively communicating with people of all cultures and walks of life. He understands hardships and maintains healthy boundaries in his ability to help others make positive progress through life.

I am a Senior Sales Executive for Lawyers Title of Oregon and work with the Title Specialist Group. I have worked in the real estate-related industry since 1982. For the past 12 years, I have been an active member in the community, supporting non-profits that educate and provide housing. I serve on the Board of Community Vision Inc. as Vice-Chairperson and in 2017, I joined Fort Kennedy Board to support their vision and to serve our Veteran community.

Carlene brings to Fort Kennedy Board her active community involvement supporting non-profits, and her ability to educate and support those searching for housing.

I have been serving our community for over 12 years as a licensed Real Estate Broker. My area of expertise includes First Time Homebuyers, Short Sales, and HUD/REO home sales. I am devoted to educating my fellow real estate agents and consumers on the selling and buying process of real estate. My passion for providing housing to our Veterans led me to serve on the board at Fort Kennedy. I live in Clackamas County with my husband, two daughters, and our beloved fur babies.

Diana brings to Fort Kennedy Board her expertise in the real estate process and her passion to support our Veteran community.

I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and graduated from Centennial High School then attended Portland Community College. In 1978 I joined the United States Army at Ft. Knox, Kentucky for Basic Training, and Ft. Benning, Georgia for Individual Training. I was stationed in Aschaffenburg, Germany; 3rd Infantry Division then stationed at Ft. Carson, 4th Infantry Division, and ended my time in service in 1985. In 1991 I joined the United States Army Reserve where I was stationed in Vancouver, Washington at Vancouver Barracks, 104th Division until retirement from The Army Reserves in 2016. My Army Awards and Decorations include [5] Army Achievement Medals, [3] Army Commendation Medals, [2] Army Meritorious Service Medals, and [1] Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, German Marksmanship Schutzenschnur Badge, and French Commando Badge.

My experience includes Assembly, Lead Assembler, Tester, Quality Control, Facility Maintenance, Research and Design, and Safety.

I have been involved in multiple charities with a total of 29 combined years that include Stand Down, Salvation Army, Oregon Impact (previous), My Father’s House, and Ft. Kennedy (present).

Fred brings to Fort Kennedy Board his experience gained in the military, work leadership experience, and his outstanding role with charities that have helped members in our community with the resources they need for everyday essentials.

I was raised in Southern California and have lived up and down the West Coast. In 1968, I joined the Marines and served for 3 years. My experience included service as a Radio Relay Repairman (USMC), Personnel Sergeant, Motor Sergeant, and Track Vehicle Repair Supervisor. Upon being discharged from the Marines, I worked my way through college and graduated in 1994 with a BA in History.

My experience outside military service includes being Director of Environmental Services, Laundry Manager, and an Operations Manager supervising janitorial staff, cleaning 2,000,000 square feet of office space. I currently reside in Tigard, OR with my wife Heather, and we have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.

James brings to Fort Kennedy Board his knowledge and experience from his service in and outside the military that actively supports our Veterans with the assistance they need.

I am a USAF Cold War Veteran. I have a combined 25 years of Military and Law Enforcement experience and served as an adviser to the Afghanistan National Police for three years.

I joined the Board of Fort Kennedy to honor those that I served with overseas and for the ones that didn’t make it home. Helping our Veterans that our country sent to war, then upon return are ignored by our government, is my way of honoring their service to our country.

In my spare time, I enjoy activities such as camping, hiking, and kayaking.
